    • Bio: Funeral service for Arlyn Rauk, 74 of Leland, was held Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Winnebago LutheranChurch in rural Lake Mills with Rev. Bill Peters officiating. Burial was in the Winnebago Lutheran Ceroetery with Petersen Lund Funeral Home in charge of arrange­ments.Arlyn Ordean Rauk was born on his grandparents farm in Mt. Valley Township, Winnebago County, on August 10, 1930, the son of Allen and Olga (Rusley) Rauk. He died Sunday, Jan. 30,2005at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills.Arlyn was baptized at home and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. He received his education in rural school in Mt. Valley Township and graduated from Forest City High School in 1948. He worked with his father on the family farm until being inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952. He was stationed in Japan with the Peacekeeping Forces following the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1954 and returned home to work' with his dad. On June 23, 1978 he was unit­ed in marriage with Lila (Askeland) Egesd at theWinnebago Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills and the couple made their home in rural Leland.Arlyn loved caring for ani­mals and in his early years raised horses and milked cows. In later years, he discovered a passion for raising beef cattle and also enjoyed grain farming. Arlyn was an avid sports fan. As a young man he bowled and was an excellent softball player. Over the years he attended as many games as he could to watch his children and grand­ children participate. He treas­ured time spent with his family and loved to have coffee and visit with his friends. He was a member of Winnebago Lutheran Church, the VFW and the American Legion. Arlyn is survived by his wife, Lila Rauk of Leland, his chil­dren and their spouses: Kathy and Joe Skeens of Clive, Darla and Tim Tarmann of Cambridge, Minn., and Mark and Tammy Egesdal of Forest City. Also 11 grandchildren: Vanessa, Brittany, Katelyn and Courtney Skeens; Jennith and Dane Tarmann; Amber, Ashley, Annette, Zachary and Zarren Egesdal; a brother and sister-in­ law, Carlyle and Dixie Rauk of Forest City, an uncle, Carlton Rauk and wife Ruby of Forest City, nephews Kerby Rauk, Scott Rauk, Jeff Rauk and Kelly Rauk and numerous cousins.Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents.
