- Anna Martha Matthies, daughter of Richard and Marie (Mohns) Matthies, was born November 18, 1903 in Holloway, MN. When Anna was three months old she moved with her family to Canada where she grew up and received her education.
- Anna married Fred Baker in Canada in 1922. She then lived in Minneapolis, MN before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1925. She married Herman Dahl in Canton, SD in June of 1939. Anna was a mother and homemaker who also did some domestic work for others. She retired in 1973. Anna later married Arthur Hankins on April 16, 1973 in Sioux Falls. Arthur preceded her in death on February 19, 1983.
- Anna attended First Assembly of God and was a longtime member of the Golden Age Club where she enjoyed playing Pokeno and dancing. She also enjoyed crocheting, card playing, making quilts and was an avid flower gardener.
- In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Wesley "Bud" Baker; three grandchildren, Randy Larson, Larry Larson, and Laura Lee Pallideno; two brothers, Otto and Frank Matthies; and two sisters, Alice Nolte and Ida Skippon.
- Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at George Boom Funeral Home following the committal service.
