    • Bio: Doris (Lemberg) Isaksen 91, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday February 14, 2015, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of the late Captain Louis W. Isaksen, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.Doris was born in Wildwood, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Otto and Anna Lemberg, and was the last survivor of 6 children. She graduated from Cape May High School in 1939. After marrying, she and her husband moved to Dartmouth where she has lived for 68 years. She was a full time homemaker and mother, a good neighbor and friend.Doris was a member of the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth where she had served as a Deacon and a member of the Women's Guild. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and sharp wit, also her compassion and generosity. She enjoyed gardening, loved fresh flowers and usually had a bouquet in the house or to give to someone to brighten their spirits. Doris was also a fantastic cook and enjoyed feeding her family and many others at her table over the years. She was locally known for her braided Finnish bread (Bolla bread) and often brought loaves to neighbors, mailed it to distant family, and taught others how to make it, too. She also served as a den mother, leading two separate troops in South Dartmouth.Doris is survived by two sons and one daughter. She was the mother of the late Kurt W. and Neil E. Isaksen. She was the devoted grandmother of three. She was also the sister of the late Captain Edwin Lemberg, Irene Axelson, Elsie Jensen, and Mildred and Helen Lemberg, and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was good at keeping in touch with others, always willing to be the one to make the call, cheering someone up and often making them laugh. Her family will receive relatives and friends for visitation on Thursday February 19, 2015 from 4-7 pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth. Private burial will be in the National Cemetery in Bourne. A Memorial Service at Allen's Neck Friends Meeting is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101
