- Bio: Rhoda Cleone Skiles, 87, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2014 in Redmond, WA. Rhoda was born September 8, 1927 in Sumner, Iowa, to Rev. Theodore and Olinda Klatt. Rhoda, being one of twelve children, understood the importance of family at an early age. When her father passed away when she was 11 years old, she took it upon herself to help provide for the family. From cleaning houses, to being a member of the FBI, she did what she had to do.
- Then when Rhoda was 18 years old, she met the love of her life, Lyman Skiles. Soon after the two met they were married July 26, 1946 in Sunnyside, WA. Rhoda had many business ventures along the way, from owning a bookstore, a Dairy Queen, and a jewelry store, to being a housewife. But what Rhoda loved more than anything, was her church, her family, and her friends. Whether it was Christmas, a birthday,a church gathering, or a family reunion, Rhoda had her hand in it all. She was the glue. From baking cakes, to giving a ride, or just bringing her glowing personality, Rhoda was someone you always wanted there. She was the most caring, loving, giving person that you could ever ask for in a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
- Rhoda is survived by her son, 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and two great grandchildren.
- In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society , or LWML at All Saints Lutheran Church.
