- Bio: Clarissa Ekse (Clarice) was the oldest of three children born to Sofia and Jakob 'Ingvald' Ekse in the Twin Cities, where her father worked for Ford Motor Company.
- Clarice's paternal great grandmother, Ingrid Larsdatter Eitorn, was my 3rd great aunt, Kristi Svardal Eitorn (Larson)'s sister-in-law and the two families emigrated out of the Sogn Fjord in Norway between 1851 and 1853. They lived first in Wisconsin and eventually in Dodge / Olmsted Counties in MInnesota for many generations. Many of Clarice's 2nd, 3rd and fourth cousins still live on farms in that area, where the majority in some townships were immigrants from one of two areas in Norway.
- Clarice's paternal grandmother, Inger Sorum was born, baptized, confirmed and married there, at South Zumbro Lutheran Church. She married a Norwegian immigrant, Rev Jakob J. Ekse. The couple moved to Hendricks, SD where they raised Clarice's father and their other 3 children.
- Clarice married Herman Lovas, and moved to his farm at Ada, MN. In her father, Invgald's later years, once widowed he lived with Clarice's family. Clarice and Herman had 6 children, all alive in 2015.
