Funeral services for Mildred Viola Larson, 80, will be today, January 21, 1993 at 10:30 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Griswold, Iowa. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery, Grant, Iowa. She died at the Griswold Care Center, January 18, 1993.
Mildred, daughter of J. D. and Edith Stewart Cunning, was born May 9, 1912 near Marshalltown in Marshall County, Iowa. She attended schools at Geneva, Iowa and graduated high school in 1930, and from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls in 1935. Her teaching career began at Prescott and she also taught business courses at Pleasantville and Newton.
She married Chester Larson on December 2, 1945, at Brandon, Iowa. They lived in Buchanan County until moving to Moberly, Missouri in 1962, where they lived until 1980, when they moved to Griswold, where they have lived since. For the last two years she resided in the care centers at Villisca and Griswold.
Mildred was church secretary at the Moberly Christian Church fro 10 years and was an active member of the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by a sister Hazel Cunning.
Surviving are her husband, son Glen Larson and Barbara of Brandon, Iowa; three granddaughters; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Morrison of Grant.
