    • Mary Joan Jacobson, 78, of Cannon Falls, Minn., formerly of Mondovi, entered into the arms of her loving Saviour on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Rollie Sessions, in Cannon Falls, Minn., where she had been residing since her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in July of 2006.
    • Mary was born on Sept. 1, 1929, to William Roy and Hattie Mae (Allum) Cork in Winner, S.D. She graduated from Colome High School in 1947 and attended Dakota Wesleyan University for one year in Mitchell, S.D. She later transferred to Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as an RN in 1953. She married James Orvin Lee Jacobson on Sept. 25, 1955.
    • Mary held several positions throughout her nursing career, including Methodist Hospital in Mitchell, S.D., and Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Minneapolis. Most recently Mary served as director of nursing at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. She retired on July 29, 1994, after 21 years of service.
    • Mary thoroughly enjoyed people. Her sincere interest, care and concern for others was evident to everyone she met from young to old. Family was very important to Mary.
    • She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Wilder, Burnsville, Minn., Valerie (Pete) Schreiner of Stratford and Kathleen (Rollie) Sessions of Cannon Falls, Minn., and nephew, Joel (Shirley) Jacobson of Mondovi, who was lovingly raised as their own from 13 months of age; eight grandchildren, Jael (Adam) Jacobson, George Schreiner, Jenny Schreiner, Rachael (Phil) Gergen, Roland Sessions III, Reas Sessions, James M. Jacobson and Jocelyn Jacobson; and six great-grandchildren, Joanna and Ethan Jacobson, Austin, lzabelle, Carson and Danessa Gergen.
    • She is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Orvin Lee Jacobson; granddaughter, Rebecca Schreiner; her parents; sisters, lzella Engle and Florence Spencer; brothers, Oral Cork and Virgil Cork.
    • Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Lookout Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi, with the Rev. Rodney Stueland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi, with the Rev. James Peterson officiating.
    • Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008, at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi and on Saturday at the church one hour prior to services.
