(Miller) Sylliaasen was born November 21, 1934 in Rosebud, SD. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1942, where Wanita attended Washington High School. On September 1, 1955, Wanita was united in marriage with Richard Hayne in Luverne, MN. She was a homemaker.Wanita was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Richard of Valley Springs; two daughters, Linda (Dan) Jacobson of Broken Bow, NE, Jeanne Angelo of Steen, MN; five grandchildren, Hillary (Jason) Williams of Merna, NE, Nick Jacobson of Broken Bow, NE, Alex, Cole, and Katie Angelo of Steen, MN; one brother, Guy (Alice) Sylliaasen, Jr. of Sioux Falls; and one sister, Shirley Story of Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jeannette Thompson; one brother, Kenneth Sylliaasen; and a baby daughter, Lisa Ann in 1962.The family has requested that memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church in Valley Springs or Vacation Bible School.
