- Bio: MARLYNN RUTH McDONALD, 70, passed away at Kindred Hospital, Dayton where she had been on life support for the past several weeks following a severe stroke.
- She is survived by her husband of 42 ½ years, Ronald W. McDonald; a son of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two brothers, Mark (Barbara) Stringer Jr. of Columbia, South America and David Stringer of Inavale, Nebraska; and two grandchildren.
- She graduated from a small school in Wayne, Nebraska and continued her education to become an LPN. She worked at a hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan after she moved there with a friend. Ron and Marlynn were married in Kalamazoo and moved to Springfield, Ohio as Ron was employed with then, International Harvester. During this time, she worked for a short period at a nursing home in Urbana prior to moving to Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In Ft. Wayne, she worked at Parkview Hospital until the time that she and Ron adopted their son, Jared. In 1984, Ron was transferred back to the Springfield Plant and Marlynn then stopped working to care for the upbringing of Jared and providing home child care for some working families that have become friends of the family. She then decided to go back to school and graduated from Clark State, Springfield with an Associate's Degree in Applied Business. Marlynn then cared for her mother for four years after moving her to Springfield from Wayne, Nebraska. Marlynn attended Southgate Baptist Church for the past 4 ½ years. Prior to that, she played the piano for a few years at Liberty Baptist Temple.
- The family was served by the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME of Springfield, Ohio.
