Williams, 83, long-time resident of the Bonilla area, died Tuesday at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Huron.The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bonilla First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial will be in the Bonilla Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Harlan Peterson, Irving Wessel, Eldon DeShazer, George Phillips, Norman French and Camden Galliger.Friends may call at Brooks Chapel, Wolsey, Thursday afternoon or evening.Harvie J. Williams was born March 5, 1890, at Ridgeway, Wis., to Daniel and Lizzie Williams. He came to Bonilla in a covered wagon with his parents in 1897. He farmed in the area ever since, except for one year he spent in Montana. He married Carrie French, March 19, 1914.Williams was a member of the Bonilla Presbyterian Church, National Farmers Organization, Farmers Union, and served for many years on the school board.Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Ferne) Wessel, Huron, and Mrs. Michael (Verle) Allen, Seattle, Wash.; four sons Richard and Merlyn of Bonilla, Delbert of Denver and Keith of Huron; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.The Daily Plainsman, Huron, Beadle, South DakotaThursday, July 5, 1973, p5 c2
