    • Bio: Inwood, IA - Curtiss E. Styke, age 77, died suddenly Monday, February 25, 2008 near Canton. Curtiss was born September 15, 1930 in Sioux Falls, SD to Ingolf and Hazel (Clausen) Styke. He attended schools near Inwood, in Sioux Falls, and Rowena. Curtiss served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. Curtiss was united in marriage to Shirley Eastman April 8, 1956 in at Canton United Methodist Church. They lived their entire married life on a farm near Inwood, and later worked at Otis Radio and K Products in Canton. He worked for K Products in Rock Rapids, IA for 14 years, retiring in 1992. Curtiss enjoyed camping and using their trailer with family at Big Stone Lake. He also enjoyed woodworking, throwing horse shoes, and shooting pool. Those grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Barbara (Kurtis); his son, Gary (Leisa) of Harrisburg, SD; five grandchildren, Jarrod (Erin), Troy (Michelle), Alison, Stacy, and Kari; and two great-grandchildren, Conner and Kimber. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of rural Inwood, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Make a Wish Foundation.
