- Caren Wynema Hantz was born Caren Wynema Sargent in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the loving wife of Robert Hantz with whom she made a home in Fremont. Caren had a special passion for gardening, possessing a green thumb that was truly a gift. In a flower's bloom she could see life, love and God's beauty of Creation. In helping to create such marvels, she was able to find peace from the many adversities that life had challenged her with. Caren also loved animals and was highly devoted to her own pets: Her dog Hailey and her cat Tigger. To her they were family and they will truly miss her. Caren had a heart of pure gold and was always ready and eager to help friends or family. She never gave up on people and those who knew her never doubted the love she was capable of feeling for them. Caren is preceded in death by her father, brother, and daughter. She is survived by her mother Wynema, her husband Robert, her sister Cathy, her children Ted, Robert and Tim and her grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie and Danielle. Caren's life will be celebrated on Monday, November 22nd, 11am at the Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd. in Fremont. All friends and family are invited to visitation from 9:00 to 11:00am. Burial will be at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, following the services. Fremont Chapel of the Roses 510-797-1900
