- Bio: Harvey J. Olson, 67, a longtime Williston resident, passed away Monday afternoon, January 28, 2013, at his home in Williston, ND.
- Harvey was born in Poplar, Montana to Olaf and Rose (LaVallie) Olson on February 21, 1945. He attended school in Glendive, Montana and went on to earn a certificate in Mechanics from University of North Dakota-Williston in 1972.
- Harvey married Janet Eide on June 18, 1966 in Stanley, North Dakota.
- Harvey worked many construction jobs over the years until he found the job he wanted operating cranes at Borsheim Crane Service in Williston, where he worked for 15 years. He then went on to work for Westcon Industries for 10 years as a crane operator until he was reluctantly forced to retire in 2001 due to illness. He really loved working on those big machines.
- He enjoyed playing guitar and singing, riding his Harley, working in the yard, and visiting with family and friends. Harvey had a great sense of humor and loved laughing about the silliest things.
- Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet (Eide) Olson. He will also be lovingly remembered by his children, Christine Olson of Mandan, Leanne (Dean) Schmidt of Mandan, Richard Olson (special friend, Cindy) of Alexander, Scott Olson of West Fargo and Rick (Laura) Parrish of Lebanon, Oregon; ten grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Peterson and Barbara Partridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
- He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose LaVallie, his father, Olaf Olson, his brother, Morris Olson; and two brothers-in-law, Stu Partridge and Robert Peterson.

- Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Williston.
