Anita Nelson Sesker, 68, of Valley Center, Kan., died Tuesday of heart failure athe St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nevada, with the Rev. James King officiating.
Anita Nelson was born in Ames to Orville and Winifred (Wills) Nelson. She married Gail Sesker on May 12, 1944, in Nevada. She had been a resident of Valley Center, Kan., for one year, moivng there from Bosworth, Mo.. She had also lived in the Ames and Nevada areas for a number of years, as well as in Cambridge.
She was a homemaker and a member of the West Liberty Methodist Church in Fort Scott, Kan..
She is survived by her husband, Gail Sesker of Valley Center, Kan; four sons, Keven Sesker of Park City, Kan., Kerry Sesker of Iowa City, Maneen Sesker of Valley Center, Kan., and Burnell Sesker of Webb City, Mo.; two daughters, Renie Weaver of El Pasp, Texas, and Artys Hallacy of Valley Center, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Virginia Martin of Fresno, Calif., and Connie Crouse of Clinton, Mo.; and one brother, Vernon Nelson of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter and a sister.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada.
