- Bio: Stephen Donald McClure, age 66, formerly of Worland, passed away Nov. 14, 2014 at the Wyoming Medical Center, in Casper. He had an arduous battle against Lewy Body Dementia.
- The youngest of four children to Tom Sr. and Bertha (Bradley) McClure, he was born Sept. 27, 1948 in Red Lodge, Montana. He grew up on the Ellis Ranch where five steps out the back door he could be at the creek fishing. He attended Hogan School, a one-room eight-grade schoolhouse and graduated from Red Lodge High School in 1966.
- During the Vietnam Conflict, he enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept. 10, 1969. He served two years active duty and was honorably discharged on Sept. 1, 1971 as a Sergeant (E-5).
- Steve began working for Fremont Beverages Incorporated (Pepsi) in Worland in 1972 and was quickly promoted as a bottle line supervisor. Because of his superior mechanical skills, he was flown around the Western states to fix machinery in other production facilities. He retired from Fremont Beverages in March 2008 after 36 years.
- On July 24, 1976, Steve married Linda Sue Wollesen in Worland. He deeply loved the family he had with her, Christina, Tabitha, Kenan, and Lance. He was proud to be their father, one of his greatest accomplishments. Throughout his life, he also loved his pets. Izzy and Jasper, his Schnauzers, provided much comfort during his last years.
- Steve revered being outdoors, whether it was fly-fishing, hunting, boating, water and downhill skiing, gardening, or camping. He also had a passion for creating with wood and dreamed of opening a woodworking shop after he retired.
- Steve was a dependable and trustworthy individual, who had an even head on his shoulders. He was kind man with a gentle heart and a philosopher’s soul. His notorious sense of humor made him fun to be around.
- He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Bertha McClure; daughter, Christina Wollesen-Felton; and his brother, Harold McClure.
- He leaves his wife of 38 years, Linda (Wollesen) McClure; his daughter Tabitha (Tye) Herron; his sons Kenan (Heather) Smith and Lance (Rachel Stever) McClure; his eight grandchildren Taylor, Paige, and Talon Herron, Kameron Westerberg, Kenan and Kayden Smith, Gabriel Deyle and Jackson McClure; his sister Nancy(Jim) Kirby, all of Casper; his sister-in-law Barbara of Worland; Tommy Jr. (Regina) McClure also of Worland; his brother-in-law, Lynn Wollesen of Auburn, Iowa, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
