  Noteringar	Bio: Born to Gabriel and Anna Malmin in Hannaford, North Dakota. The youngest of four children, her parents emigrated from Norway and had settled into farming in their new homeland of opportunity. Her first language was Norwegian, but she got a head start on learning English from her brothers and sister before starting school. Life on the farm meant hard work for the family, and Agnes began at an early age to contribute by helping her Mom keep a clean house. At Hannaford High School, she played forward and lettered in basketball. After graduating, she attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota on a scholarship, and then transferred to Valley City Teacher's College. She worked for a minister's family for room and board; washing, ironing, and helping take care of the eight children. After graduating, she taught at a country school for two years, teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 6th graders in the same classroom. Then the opportunity came to travel to Seattle with a friend and her mother. It was 1943 and the Second World War caused a need for employees to help build airplanes. In Seattle, she found work at Boeing, where her contribution was installing windows in the nose section of the B-17. She lived in a rooming house full of women, and the lady next door rented to men. It wasn't long before she met Gerald (Gary) Pomeroy, who also worked at Boeing. They were married in 1944. She took on her new role of wife and then mother, and worked diligently at homemaking as she raised five daughters. She canned vegetables from the garden, had dinner on the table promptly when her husband came home from work, kept her home clean, read to her children, and was a devout Christian teaching her children the love of Jesus. After raising her own family, she spent a lot of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would prop them on the counter while she baked cookies, or carry them on her hip while she cleaned house. She was dedicated to her husband and family.
