- Bio: Elizabeth "Lu" Dougherty, R.N., 57, of Emmaus, died November 28, 2004 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of Margaret (Shea) Lee of Carlisle, and the late Maj. Robert Lee, U.S. Army, (Ret.). She was a 1965 graduate of Carlisle High School and a 1968 graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Allentown. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus; was a member of Sacred Heart Nursing School Alumni Association; and a troop organizer for Girl Scouts of America, of the Lehigh Valley. In 1982, she was recognized as an Outstanding Young Women of America. Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband, Edward J. Dougherty; daughter, Kelly A. Worley and her husband, William of Macungie; son, Edward "Ted" Dougherty and his wife, Meredith of Fountain Hill; loving granddaughters and playmates, Emily D. Langan, Delaney E.Worley and Avery R. Worley; brothers, Robert N. Lee of Cascade Locks, Oregon, and Patrick Lee of Carlisle; sisters, Mary M. Rhoads of Carlisle, and Johanna Wagner of Camp Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth Street, Emmaus. A celebration of life fellowship will be held after the Mass.
