- Bio: Ervin A. Lemke, 74, of 1836 37th St, Moline, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1992, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. Memorial services were Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline, where he was a member. The body was cremated. There was no visitation. Memorials may be made to the church building fund. Mr. Lemke was born July 21, 1918, in Paullina, the son of Henry J. and Frieda Ottzen Lemke. He married Gladys A. Peterson March 6, 1949, in Newhall. He was a manager of the Sherwin-Williams Co. Paint Store for 28 years, retiring in 1974. Later, he was employed by Blackhawk College, Moline, for three years as an expeditor. He was a member of the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers; and past president of the Lutheran Layman's League at the church. He was a World War n Navy veteran, serving as an aviation machinist mate, second class. Survivors include the widow; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristi Lynn and Frank Bull, Port Byron; a son and daughter-in-law, Willis "Bill" and Winonna Lemke, Sherrard; four stepgrandchildren; a stepgreatgrandchild; and a sister, Evelyn Appeldorn, Paullina.Paullina Times Sutherland Courier September 10, 1992.
