    • Bio: Ralph was born on May 9, 1930 in Frontier. He attended South Trail School, where he completed Grade Nine. Ralph spent the next few years helping his father on the farm and working for various friends and neighbors, trapping during the winter months and finally leaving Frontier to work at various jobs in Alberta and Saskatchewan. In 1949 he purchased a ½ section of virgin prairie, which he broke and put into production, thus making him a true pioneer. On June 1, 1957, he married Ellen Sprott, and they lived in Frontier for the next three years while he built the house on the farm. In 1960 they moved out to the farm, where they raised their family and expanded his farming operation. In January of 1987 they moved back to town and Ralph continued to be actively involved in the farm until the spring of 2005 when he became the sole caregiver of his beloved wife until her passing. His indomitable spirit, eternal optimism, steadfast determination and hard work have influenced all who knew him. Ralph served as an R.M. councilor, trustee and secretary for Bethel Lutheran Church in Frontier, and as Chairperson of the local Sask Wheat Pool Committee. He was a member of the local Senior Citizens Club. There are few people that have not experienced Ralph’s sense of humor and the many practical jokes he so enjoyed playing. He will be missed.
