- Bio: Sandie Chadwick Thomas, 66, Velva, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
- Sandra Renae Kingsley was born August 28, 1953, the daughter of Chester and Annie (Aaenson) Kingsley. She was raised on a farm near Deering, ND, and attended school in Glenburn.
- She married her first love, Harold Chadwick on December 19, 1970. After graduating from high school in 1971, she and Harold moved multiple times while he was in the service before making their home in Keene, ND. There they took over Chadwick Welding. Sandie and Harold had three children, Tarri, Crystal and Erik. Harold went home to Jesus on March 18, 2000.
- After jokingly saying she would never marry a farmer, she found her next love, Leo Thomas. They were married on July 12, 2002. Leo and his first wife, Billie, had four children of their own, Kevin, Kenny, Brenda and Barb. Leo and Sandie’s union created a wonderful large family. Together they have 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
- Sandie was a woman of great faith. She was very involved in her church. Al Anon and AA were especially important to her. Sandie was very caring and devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and going to Arizona for the winters. She recently discovered a joy in quilting and made several quilts for her family. Leo and Sandie loved to dance and attended many polka fests.
- Her loving family includes: husband, Leo Thomas, Velva; children, Tarri (Cliff) Wenstad, Crystal Shorb, Erik (Sheri) Chadwick, Kevin (GaeMari) Thomas, Kenny (Jodi) Thomas, Brenda (Mark) Glinz, and Barb (Dennis) Schafer; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Kerrie) Kingsley, Harlon (Carolyn) Kingsley, Ronald (Mona) Kingsley, Keith (Kim) Kingsley, Bryan Kingsley, William (Mary) Kingsley and Kevin (Ronda) Kingsley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
- She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Chester; first husband, Harold Chadwick; sister, Marilyn Nelson and brother, Myron Kingsley; sister-in-law, Colleen Kingsley.
