- Bio: Hazel passed on peacefully at her home on October 13, 1997 and went to her Eternal Home to be with our Lord. She was born on January 28, 1919, on her grandparents farm near Sissseton, S.D. During her childhood she lived in various places and she graduated from high school in Whitefish in 1939.
Hazel married Norbert Frigge from Dutton on Nov. 30 1939 in Whitefish. Norbert and Hazel lived in Helena before moving to Billings in 1959.
The have six children: Martha Whitaker from Great Falls, Norbert Jr. and Bernard from Lovell, Wyo.,ynthia Wilder and Margaret Frigge from Billings and Theresa Stephenson from Whitefish. Her children blessed her with 13 grandchildren.
She touched everyone's hearts who knew her - she was loved by all. Hazel led a very full life and was a very special lady. Her love for people showed in the profession she chose
She was an LPN and had worked in hospitals, nursing homes and did private home care.
Hazel belonged to Bible Study Fellowship and other Bible Study groups.
She was a member of St. Thomas Church and of Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Hazel is also survived by two sisters: Alice Edmiston, San Jose, Calif., and Doris Annas, Helena. She was preceded in death by husband, Norbert; sister, Violet Sweeney; two grandsons, Shawn Shanks and Isaac Stephenson; and one great-grandson, Jacob Matta.
A vigil will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St Thomas Church. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul or any charity of your choice.
