- Bio: F.Jeanette Forre MortensenDecember 19, 1916 - December 26, 2015Jeanette Forre Mortensen, 99, of Newman Grove, Nebraska passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Boone County Health Center in Albion, Nebraska. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Shell Creek Lutheran Church in Newman Grove.Freda Jeanette Forre was born December 19, 1916 on the family farm near Newman Grove. She was one of seven children born to Gunder G. and Valda (Hanson) Forre. Jeanette was baptized January 1, 1917 at her Grandma Hanson's home and confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1931 at Shell Creek Lutheran Church. She graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1934. In 1939, Jeanette graduated from Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Omaha. Her 40 year career as a Registered Nurse included 10 years at Immanuel Hospital where she was a surgical nurse supervisor, a dermatology office in Pasadena, California for 3 years, the office of Dr. H. Davis in Omaha for 7 years, an industrial nurse for Tip Top Products in Omaha for 8 years and for Mutual of Omaha as a health service manager for 11 years. She retired July 13, 1979.On June 22, 1979 she married Leslie D. Mortensen in Reno, Nevada. The couple made their home in Portland, Oregon. Jeanette is survived by two step-daughters and their husbands, Susan and Joe Ruiz and Mary and Mark Johnson all of Anacortes, Washington; a step-granddaughter, Liz Johnson also of Anacortes; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Forre of Bellwood, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Mortensen, her parents, Gunder and Valda Forre; six siblings and spouses, Lou Hassel and her husband, Milton, Opal Forre, Glenn Forre, LuJean Esterly and her husband, Herb, Sidney "Bob" Forre and his wife, Phyllis and Ruby Meyer and her husband, Bill; and a nephew, Dan Forre.
