Kenneth Flatness Dies of Injuries Received in Rodeo
Havre Daily News--The body of Kenneth B. Flatness, 34, of Box Elder, arrived in Havre at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon following injuries sustained in a rodeo at Zortman July 4th. He was severely hurt when a horse fell and was taken to a Malta hospital where he succumbed. Mr. Flatness had ranched in the Box Elder foothills and was well known in that community.
The deceased was born in Chinook, Feb. 20, 1908, and his parents moved to Box Elder shortly afterwards. He was married to Ruth Zanda Moore at Havre, May 18, 1935. He was a member of the Box Elder Lutheran church.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by four children, Kenneth, age 6, Elinor, age 5, David, age 3, and Laurence, age one and one-half. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Ole Flatness of Box Elder; four sisters, Mrs. A. W. Hobbs, Butte; Mrs. Clark Johnson, Butte; Gladys Flatness, Havre; and Lucille Flatness, Cut Bank. Three brothers left to mourn his passing are Kermit, Lame Deer; Maurice, Billings; and Olaf, Box Elder.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Holland and Bonine funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Lutheran minister of Big Sandy officiating. Burial will be at Havre.
