- Bio: Jesse O. Dale, 92, of rural Newark, died Sunday morning July 2, 2006 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at the West Lisbon Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Lombardo II officiating. Burial will be in West Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the West Lisbon Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Born May 3, 1914 in Wallace Township, LaSalle County, he was the son of John and Olive (Kleppa) Dale. He received his education in the schools of LaSalle County. He married Agnes Olson on October 16, 1935 at the West Lisbon Lutheran Church. For all of their married life, they farmed in LaSalle and Kendall Counties. Survivors are his wife of rural Newark; five children, Harold (Eleanor) Dale of Sterling, Annetta Dale of Newark, Stan (Diane) Dale of Marseilles, Ruth (Gary) Anderson of Newark, Rita (Loren) Olson of Woodstock; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Knutson of Malta; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and two grandchildren in infancy. He was an active member of the West Lisbon Lutheran Church. He taught Sunday School of many years and also served as a member of the Church Council. The other boards he served on were the Lutheran Family Mission in Chicago, Wayside Cross Mission in Aurora and Lisbon Grade School. He loved serving the Lord as a Lay Preacher and was always ready to share his faith with others. Memorials may be given to the West Lisbon building fund or World Mission Prayer League. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law, John Dale, Mark Dale, Tony McEvoy, Steve Anderson, Tully Williams, Joel Halcomb, Mike Ricklefs, Ray Pelletier, David Olson and Michael Olson.
