- Bio: SUN PRAIRIE—Alan W. Ciochon, age 53, passed away in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his daughters, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on September 17, 1967 in Fort Dodge, IA to Chester “Chet” and Audrey (Nerland) Ciochon. Alan was a graduate of both Clinton High School and Beloit College. He married the love of his life, Trisha Murray, on August 27, 2004.
- Alan was CIO of the law firm Michael Best in Milwaukee, and he was the previous director of I.T. at Whyte, Hirschboeck, Dudek, in Milwaukee, WI. He served on various advisory boards as being a well- respected leader in his industry. He was known for his leadership and negotiating skills with relationships being at the forefront of everything he did.
- Alan was involved in sports from a very young age growing up in Fort Dodge, Iowa. With a natural athleticism, he excelled at baseball, football, and basketball. Alan was named MVP and best overall athlete throughout his high school years. He continued to play basketball at Beloit College until he sustained a career-ending injury.
- Alan attended Catholic school until he left Fort Dodge to move to Wisconsin his freshman year of high school. That foundation of faith continued to grow in Alan throughout his adult life. He was devoted follower of Christ and a dedicated member of White Stone Community Church in Oconomowoc, WI where he taught discipleship classes.
- Alan touched so many lives with his unwavering optimism and kind and selfless spirit. To know him was to love him. He had the gift of gab and would talk with anyone he came in contact with. He would always leave with an encouraging word, and of course, ask if you knew Jesus. Energy and light exuded from him, and if you were in the same room with him long enough, it was sure to lift you up.
- Alan loved being a dad and papa. He was devoted to his entire family, but then he had granddaughters. Papa’s girls. From cross-country adventures with Adalynn in the RV to playing with the garden hose and snuggling to reading books, those girls were the apple of his eye and gave him strength to continue his fight. Though they may not remember him all the fun they had together, they will have an angel above looking over them forever.
- Alan is survived by his wife Trisha; children Alyssa (Derek) Butler; stepdaughter Jordain (Aric Blank) Sanger; and two granddaughters Arabella and Adalynn Butler. He is further survived by his father Chester Ciochon; siblings Cherie (Jerry) Tinsman, Richard (Cathy) Ciochon, Stanley (Kim) Ciochon, and Carie (Craig) McGinnis; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Alan is preceded in death by his mother Audrey, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
- Alan was a devoted and loving husband, father, and papa. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
- Due to COVID restrictions, all services will be private. Alan will be brought to his final resting place at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
