Leonard passed away October 11, 1987.Following her husband's death, she continued to reside in Minot.Ruth was a long-time member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot. Ruth's faith and Daily Devotionals were an important part of her life. She lived her life according to the word of God and instilled those beliefs in her children and grandchildren.Ruth was loved by everyone she met in life. She loved to socialize with family and friends and her home was often the gathering place for everyone. Ruth was a "homemaker" and that meant baking homemade bread, canning anything and everything and baking all of her family's favorite dishes, salads and pies. After Ruth's children were grown she worked outside the home. Her perfect job was working at Trinity Hospital as a Nursing Assistant in the operating room. She would transport patients to surgery always making sure they were comforted. As she told all the nurses she met during her care, "I just loved my job at Trinity."After retirement, Ruth enjoyed traveling and visiting all of her children, Julie and Neil in Las Vegas, NV, Brenda and Mike in Bend, OR, and spending time with Troy and Paula and Nancy and Kim at their cabins. She made several memorable trips to Nashville with her brother, Kennard, and sister-in-law, Arlene, and her sister, Evelyn. She loved visiting her sister, Marlene, in Bismarck whenever she could. They would laugh and share stories and just enjoy being sisters.Ruth loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were priceless to her and she made each of them feel they were the most important people in the world.Ruth also loved the Norsk Høstfest and for many years hosted couples from Canada and welcomed them into her home.Ruth loved Country Music and enjoyed watching her son, Troy, and daughter-in-law, Paula, play at various venues in Minot. She was a loyal CMT music fan.Ruthie made everyone's life better. Whenever you saw her it was always about "you" and never about her.
