- Bio: Evelyn "Gamma" Rauschenberger, 79, Minot, ND, formerly of Velva, ND, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006, in a Minot hospital.Evelyn Josie Byre was born on November 23, 1926, the daughter of Roal and Olga (Askvig) Byre in Minot, ND. She was raised in Minot and later White Earth, ND, until 1937, when she and her family moved to Carpio, ND. She attended Berthold High School.Evelyn was married to Rolland "Bill" Rauschenberger on February 24, 1952, in Kief, ND. They made their home in Balfour, ND, until 1956, when they moved to Velva, ND. Bill passed away on May 18, 1984. Following Bill's death, she moved to Minot and worked at the Holiday Inn as a room inspector. She has continued to reside in Minot since.She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.She loved reading. She enjoyed watching game shows; "Jeopardy" was a favorite. She also spent a lot of time with her sister, Ruthie, they shared many good cups of coffee together. Evelyn was a daycare provider for many years in Velva and Minot. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.Her loving family includes: children, Wanda Erck, Minot, Rick (Mary) Rauschenberger, Minot, and Shellie (Elwin) Klayson, Minot; grandchildren, Erica, Shelby, and Cary; and Chelsea, Courtney, and Koby "Buddy"; great-grandchildren, Kylar and Hailie; sisters, Ruthie Rauschenberger, Minot, Phyllis (Gordon) Braaten, Velva, and Marlene (Dick) Muse, Minot; brothers, Kennard (Arlene) Byre, Maxbass, and Ronnie (Karen) Byre, Minot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolland "Bill", sister, Jennie Eshenko and brother, Walter Hagen.
