  Bio: Diane Braaten----60, Velva, died Friday, April 17, 2015 in a Garrison nursing home.Diane Marie Braaten was born on November 18, 1954, a daughter of Gordon and Phyllis (Byre) Braaten at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND. She was raised in Velva, where she was active with many church activities including Sunday school and was confirmed at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in 1972. Diane graduated from Minot High School in 1973.Diane lived in various group development homes for the handicapped throughout her lifetime. In February of 2015, she moved to Benedictine Living Center in Garrison due to health reasons.Diane enjoyed music, spending time with her friends and family. She loved being around animals, especially cats. For a time she worked at the Souris Valley Humane Society of Minot. She was a compassionate lady who was always concerned with other's health and other needs. Diane was extremely kind and gentle and truly was an angel on Earth.Diane is survived by:Her father, Gordon, Voltaire, ND;Sister: Rhonda (Rick) Womble, Dalhart, TX; two brothers: Greg (Diane) Braaten, Voltaire, ND, Shawn (Holly) Braaten, Mandan, ND;seven nieces and nephews: Chris (Annette) Braaten, Danny Braaten, Kendra Braaten, Ethan Braaten, Hannah Braaten, Jeremy Womble, Rachelle Womble; two great-nieces and one great-nephew: Taryn, Jairus and Lennin.
