- Services Held For Mrs. Hovick In Washington
- Funeral services for Mrs. Nels T. Hovick, 93, a resident of Washington, D.C., for 27 years, were held October 30, 1970, at the Roen-Larson Chapel, Madison, with the Rev. O. Blilie, Oldham, South Dakota, officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.
- Pallbearers were her son-in-law, Clarence G. Bergo, Akeley, Minnesota; and three nephews, Ervin Johnson, Belmond, Iowa; Harlen Johnson, Sheffield, Iowa; and Harold Monge, Tracy, Minnesota.
- Susan Worra Hovick was born December 14, 1887, in Pontiac, Illinois, and lived with her family there and in Holmes, Iowa, before moving to Madison in 1902, where she was united in marriage on May 18, 1904, to Nels T. Hovick.
- Mrs. Horvick* passed away Oct. 26 in Washington, D.C., where she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. A prayer service was held in Washington on October 28 with her pastor, Dr. Victor Murtland, officiating.
- She was preceded in death by her husband in 1942; two sons, H. T. Hovick, and Hiram Hovick in World War II; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) Bergo; and a grandson, Richard Hovick; her parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
- She is survived by a sister, Miss Esther Worra of Clarion, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles T. Hovick, Northfield, Minnesota; three sons, N. S. Hovick, Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Ingvald, Seattle, Washington, and Rudolph, San Diego, California; and two daughters, Mrs. Henry J. Christensen, Fairbury, Illinois, and Ingrid, Washington, D.C.; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
