- Bio: Erene M. Behrens, age 98, of Davenport, formerly a resident of Hein Manor in Durant, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport.
- Visitation will be 11:00 a.m., to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Memorials donations may be made to Hein Manor, Durant Ambulance or American Schleswig-Holstein Heritage Society, in her memory.
- Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, with Dennis Behrens officiating. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
- Erene Margaret Woehlk was born August 12, 1910, in Davenport, the daughter of John and Auguste (Winzer) Woehlk. She married William Storjohann on February 19, 1934. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1945. She married Carl Walter Behrens on November 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1996. She took pride in her home and enjoyed cleaning.
- Surviving are three sons, William (Marian) Storjohann of Davenport, Ronald (Carol) Storjohann of Blue Grass and Dennis (Glynda) Behrens of Grand Junction, CO; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
- She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son, Jerry Storjohann, two sisters, Elfreida Martens and Leane Westphal, two brothers, Karl Woehlk and Jurgen Woehlk, one half brother, John H. Woehlk and one half sister, Anna Woehlk.
