      BLUE EARTH - Funeral Service for Marian L. Olson, 82, of Mankato, formerly of Blue Earth, will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
    • Marian passed away peacefully at Brookdale Community Assisted Living in Mankato, surrounded by family on August 7, 2015.
    • Marian Lucille Weise was born on February 23, 1933 to Louis F. and Lucile (Franke) Weise in Blue Earth. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Marian graduated from Blue Earth High School. In 1951, she married Jeffery Olson.

      Marian was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved to sew, knit and bake. She lived out her faith in all that she did. Marian loved to travel. One of her favorite trips was a two week tour of England, Scotland and Wales with her son, Duane. Marian was active in her church where she was involved in Circle, Martha Guild and Alter Guild. For many years she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a den mother for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies. She volunteered at St. Luke's Nursing Home working in the gift shop. Marian retired from Fairmont Tamper (Railway Motors) in 1998.
    • Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Olson; her daughter, Jayleen Olson; her parents; and brother, Howard Weise.
    • Marian is survived by her two sons, Donavan (Sharon) Olson of Windom, Duane Olson of Mankato; her three daughters, Cindy (David) Wolford of New London, WI, Joleen (Jeff) Miller of Welcome and Carol (Russ) Osnes of Eagan; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Weise of Blue Earth, Roger (Barbara) Weise of Spring Valley, John (Caroljean) of Pequot Lakes; sisters, Jean (Ronald) Schock of Welcome and Meryce (Darven) Unruh of Coon Rapids; brother-in-law, Donald (VaLores) Olson of Bricelyn; nieces and nephews. Marian will be loved and missed by all.
