- Bio: Funeral services for Mrs. Moures Thompson were held in the St. Petri Lutheran Church near York on Jan 25, 1963. She passed away at her home in York on Jan 21. Rev. R. H. Quamme officiated. Mrs. K. L. Sandven was organist and Mrs. Oscar Erie and Cleo Berven were soloists. Burial was in the St. Petri Cemetery. Active pallbearers were six grandson, Leroy Lokken of Tioga, Dennis Loken of Williston, Duane Bokn of Devils Lake, Clair and Dennis Thompson of York and Roger Huffman of Minnewaukan. Honorary pallbearers were K. B. Sandven, R. J. Pierson, Hans Halvorson, Roald Nybo, Emmett Whalen and Hubert Bock of York, and Dr. A.B. Lund, Arne Gregor and B. E. Axness of Leeds.Mrs. Thompson was born at Benson, Minn., on Jan. 13, 1878. Her parents were Anders and Barbara Thorseth. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Pauli Lutheran Church at Swift Falls, Minn. She attended school in that community. She was married to Moures Thompson Jan. 16, 1904 at the Lutheran parsonage at Knox. They lived on their farm in Beaver Township until they moved to York in the fall of 1946. She was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.Her husband survives along with six daughters, Mrs. John Loken (Olga) of Epping, N.D.; Mrs. Bernice Huberty and Mrs. Harold Berven (Hazel) of York; Mrs. Louis Bokn (Myrtle) of Devils Lake, Mrs. Eli Huffman (Lila) and Alive Thompson of Minnewaukan, and one son, Marvin, who resides on the home far; three brothers, Andrew and Alfred Thorseth of Epping and Melvin Thorseth of Glenwood, Minn.,; 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Thorseth of Epping and one granddaughter, Carol Berven of York.Attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pretzer of Velva; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bokn and family and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Braaten of Devils Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Verke, Wahpeton; Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken, Epping; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Godke, Minot; Mrs. and Mrs. Troy Thompson, Rolette; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Freidig, Webster; Mr. and Mrs. Eli Huffman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Salisbury, Harry Montague, Mrs. and Mrs. Elwin Sears, Minnewaukan, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Westrum Maddock.
