- Bio: Traci McDowellFeb. 8, 1970-Oct. 2, 2011Traci McDowell of Chadron passed away Oct. 2 in Chadron. She was 41. Burial was at Crawford Cemetery. Traci Jo McDowell was born on Feb. 8, 1970 in Chadron to Larry Willard and Sharon Ritterbush. After a short stay in Crawford the family moved to the Mullen - Hyannis area to ranch. She loved the ranch and riding horses while growing up. After several years the family moved back to Chadron where Traci grew up and lived until her death. Traci graduated from Chadron High School in 1988. In high school she enjoyed volleyball. Traci had two children from previous marriages: Brittany Schultz, age 20, whose father is Tim Schultz of Crawford; and Jamie Quinn, age 16, whose father is Donny Quinn of Chadron. Traci was employed by the Office of Human Development in Chadron as a supervisor. She enjoyed her job and loved working with the staff and clients. ?She developed life-long friendships during her employment at OHD. On June 23, 2007 Traci married Kirk McDowell. She enjoyed seeing the country and loved to travel. Traci spent much of her time meeting people from all around the country. She and Kirk traveled many miles on their Harleys and enjoyed life to the fullest. The family enjoyed their time camping and boating together. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laughter, and zest for life Traci is survived by: her husband, Kirk of Chadron; children: Brittany Schultz of Hot Springs, S. D. and Jamie Quinn of Chadron; ?step daughters Jenni Smith, Shelby McDowell, Shannon McDowell and Carrie Kilman; mother, Sharon (Tom) Ritterbush of Hot Springs, S. D.; father Larry (Sue) Willard of Kiowa, Colo.; brother, Justin Willard of Blackhawk, S. D.; and a granddaughter. Traci was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin and Ruby Rising, Robert W. Lucas and Don and Macil Willard.
