- Bio: Connie Rae Abelson passed away on Februay 3, 2009 after a two-month illness. She was 81.
- She was born in Mapleton, Iowa in 1927 and was the youngest of three children - brother Bill Port and sister Bonnie Port.
- She was married to Leonard Abelson in 1953 and they celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary in 2008.
- The remaining family includes her husband, one daughter (Kay Park), two sons (Mark and David Abelson), three granddaughters and four grandsons.
- Connie worked for many years in the Renton School District where she was a secretary. She also was active in The Order of Eastern Star in Sioux City, Iowa, and has been a member for over 50 years.
- After her husband's retirement, they began a 20-year "Snowbird" routine by spending the winter months in Arizona and in the spring returning to Washington. During this time cruises, square dancing, casinos, etc. provided the entertainment.
- Connie's great personality resulted in many friends, who continue to be in touch these 20 years.
- In accordance with Connie's wishes, there will be no formal services.
