- Bio: Shirlene Heffele, 69, of Sioux Falls, SD, died Tuesday, February 28, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018, at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018, at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory, Sioux Falls.
- Shirlene Pesicka, daughter of George and Viola (Barnhart) Pesicka, was born November 23, 1948, in Sioux Falls. She was a lifelong Sioux Falls resident and attended school at Whittier. She was united in marriage to Richard Anderson on September 28, 1977. In her earlier years she was a homemaker while raising her family. Richard died in 1984. She was later married to Richard Heffele. She was a strong woman who was not afraid to get her hands dirty. For many years she worked as a maid at the Comfort Inn. She was affectionately called Mimi by her grandchildren. Another nickname given to her was Wienie.
- Family was absolutely the number one priority in her life. She was an avid Wheel of Fortune watcher. Shirlene also loved her dog, Opie and cat, Angel.
- Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard of Sioux Falls; children, Timothy (Michele) Pesicka, Richard Anderson Jr., and Melissa (Kyle Hammond) Anderson, all of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Trent (Nicky Rupight) Pesicka, Lisa (Christopher) Noel, and Anthony Anderson; great grandchildren, Bayleigh and Berkley Pesicka; brothers, George Pesicka and Michael (Sheila) Pesicka all of Sioux Falls; and sisters, Catherine Liesinger of Sioux Falls, Patsy (Bill) Mulroy of Beresford, SD, Fanny Spielman of Sioux Falls, and Pam (Michael) Stoops of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Anderson; parents; 1 brother; 1 sister; and brother-in-law Merrill Liesinger.
