- Bio: Vilho Fredrick Nissila was born on April 20, 1934, son of John and Anna (Koskinen) Nissila in the Kensington area. He attended school and graduated in 1952 from the Kensington High School. He was employed as a farmer, served as a member of the National Farmers Organization, service on the Urness Township Board for 20 years, a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Posse and was a deacon elder of the church. He also worked at Andes Tower Hills as a chair lift supervisor for 10 years. Vilho enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time.
- Vilho died on Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at the age of 65. He is survived by his wife Beverly of Kensington; stepson Mark Holm of Alexandria; four step grandsons: Jason and Justin Holm of Virginia Beach, VA; James and Joseph Holm of Alexandria; and two sisters: Irene (Don) Fuhrman of Miltona and Jenny (Elphege) Webskowski of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
- Funeral services were held on Friday, November 5, 1999 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Moe Township with Rev. Reynold Peterson officiating. Inurnment was at the Finnish Apostolic Cemetery with Steve Fuhrman, Bruce Fuhrman, Mark Fuhrman, Darrin Fuhrman, Scott Fuhrman, Fay Wagar, Gary Webskowski, Lee Webskowski, Joy Webskowski, Paul Webskowski and Ross Webskowski serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Kangas, Phil Kangas, Marvin Kangas, Clare Kangas, Dan Russell and Myron Johnson. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria.
