- Mikkel Brotten, one of the earliest residents of Otter Tail county, died at his home on Birch avenue north at an early hour Monday morning. Mr. Bratten was about 67 years of age and was widely known throughout this section. He was born in Norway and came to American in his early manhood, living for a time at Minneapolis and coming to Otter Tail county about thirty years ago. He settled first in the town of Friberg, taking a homestead there, but a few years later removed to Fergus Falls town, purchasing a large farm bordering on Pelican river about four miles west of this city.
- He sold this latter farm a few years ago and removed to this city purchasing the Davis Burbank residence on Birch avenue north where he has since resided. For the past two years he has driven the street sprinkler. He enjoyed a wide circle of acquaintances and was well liked by everyone.
