    • Bio: Stratford CourierMarch 18, 1926MRS. L.J. BERGLUND DIED TUESDAY AFTER FEW WEEKS ILLNESSMrs. L.J. Berglund died at the family home here Tuesday morning at 8:55, death being caused by complications brought about by a recent severe attack of the flu. Mrs. Berglund had not been in the best of health for many years and the attack of flu had seemed to weaken her so that she really never fully recovered from the effects of it. The death of her brother, Reinhold Anderson, a few weeks ago, caused her untold grief also. She was nearly 67 years old.The surviving relatives have the sincere sympathy of their friends in their sorrow.Stratford CourierMarch 25, 1926BerglundClara Elizabeth Anderson was born near Tidaholm, Skaraborgs Lan, Vestergotland, Sweden, April 16, 1850, and died at her home in Stratford, March 16, 1926, at 9 a.m., having reached the age of 66 years, 11 months. She was confirmed and grew to womanhood in Sweden in the vicinity of where she was born. She was united in marriage there to L.J. Berglund, February 28, 1880. To this union twelve children were born, of which eleven are living, the oldest having passed away in infancy.She came to America with her husband and family during the year 1890 and has lived in this community ever since. She was united in with the Lutheran church of this place the same year of her arrival in this country and remained a true and faithful member until her death.She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, four sons and seven daughters and they are as follows: Emil, Eric, Verner and Gust, all of Stratford; Mrs. Alice Larson of Boxholm, Mrs. Bessie Peterson of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Bertha Kane, and Mrs. Esther Hall of Stratford, Mrs. Clara Snyder of Stanhope and Miss Minnie Berglund of Stratford. Also thirty grandchildren. There are also surviving, three brothers, Peter and Fred Anderson of Stratford and Emil Anderson of Luverne, three sisters, Mrs. A.T. Lofdahl and Mrs. Chas. Peterson of Chicago and Mrs. Frank Erickson of Stanhope, besides many other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by Dr. Jos. Anderson of Boxholm, assisted by Rev. Jessup of Cedar Rapids. The pall bearers were her four sons and two nephews.
