    • Bio: Oscar N. Hooverson, age 74, died on Sept. 18, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born in Franklin Township, Vernon County, WI, on July 12, 1925, the son of the late Melvin and Martha (Fortun) Hooverson. He was united in marriage to Alvira L. Christianson on Dec. 2, 1944. The couple had resided in Sun Prairie since 1961 until recently moving to Marshall, WI. Oscar was employed as a truck driver for Neuendorf Transportation Company in Madison, WI, which later became A.N.R., retiring in 1986, and also drove school bus in Sun Prairie for many years. He was a member of Teamster's Union Local #695. He is survived by his wife, Alvira of Marshall; ten children, Roger (Pat) of Middleton, WI, Gary (Susie) of Prairie du Sac, WI, Barb (Dick) Nagel of Marshall, WI, Bev (Jim) Zimmerman of Sun Prairie, WI, Arden (Shirley) of Madison, Bonnie (Tim) Fagan of Stoughton, Anita (Mark) Grote of Marshall, Jim of Sun Prairie, Judy (Mike Lackey) Hooverson of Sun Prairie, WI, and Ron (Jill) of Lake Mills, WI; two brothers, Maurice (Norma) of Soldiers Grove, WI, and Harold (Lenice) of Fort Collins, CO; six sisters, Kathryn (Karl) Kusslid of Forde, Norway, Ann (Merland) Severson of Tulsa, OK, Dorothy (Jack) Winter of Pasedena, CA, Doris (Herb) Schmidt of Richland Center, WI, Ruth Patterson of Canada, and Margaret (Jack) Tucker of Martinsville, IN; 24 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Gnewikow-Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City, WI, with Pastor Dave Hein officiating. Burial in North Kickapoo Cemetery, Franklin Township, Vernon County. Gnewikow-Hooverson Funeral Home assisted the family.
