- Bio: Agnes Ritchhart, 103, died at a local nursing home on Nov. 20, 2007.
- A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the First Baptist Church, 111 14th Ave. N.E. in Watertown. The Rev. Robert Weiss and Rev. Gregg Berkey will co-officiate.
- Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
- Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel is in charge of the service.
- She was born Agnes May Hallauer, May 15, 1904, in Wallace to August and Clementine (Lantgen) Hallauer. She married Elias S. Christianson, and after his death, married E.R. " Jim" Ritchhart. She spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother. She spent a part of her life working as a seamstress for Paulis' Dress Shop, and as a sales clerk in Thorson's Fabric Store. She was active in her Ladies's Aid Group at the First Baptist Church,several Women's Bridge groups, and a mixed group that included her husband, Jim.
- She lived independently until she was 97 and had to stop driving. She then moved to Prairie Commons until age 100. Ill health alone caused her move to Prairie Crossings, where she lived until an unfortunate fall in January of 2007. She then resided in Jenkins Nursing Facility until her death. She had a happy, cheerful attitude about every change in her life, and presented a pleasant demeanor to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
- She is preceded in death by her parents, August and Clementine; her two husbands, Eli, and Jim; a son, Charles Robert Christianson; her brothers: Frank, Carl, John, William and Leo; her sister: Mary (Mame) Cordell, Anna Tiahrt, Josephine Thompson, and Sophie (who died as an infant).
- She is survived by one daughter, Kay Christianson of Lakewood, Colo.; and three stepchildren: Steven (Catherine) Ritchhart of Lansing, Mich., Velda (Robert) Barkley of Altoona, Iowa, and Nadine (Steven) Calhoon of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Janice Bartling-Christianson-Barnes; and several grandchildren.
- Memorials may be sent to Prairie Lakes Hospice, 1st Baptist Ladies Aide or Jenkins Living Center.
