- Thomas Sandeno was born close to Stavanger, Norway to Gunder T. Sondenaa and Kari Lamriksdtr Urdahl. He was the only son, with four sisters, Berthe, Britta, Louise and Nilla.
- Thomas emigrated out in 1901, immigrating via Canada into the US at St. Albans, VT, settling in the Midwest. He studied to become a Lutheran pastor at Red Wing Seminary in Red Wing, MN, graduating in 1912.
- Thomas married Bertine Aarsvold April 27, 1910 at Winona, MN. He graduated from Red Wing in 1912, took a call to Grand Meadow; then South Zumbro Lutheran Church. They had six sons who survived infancy. They had two sons, Adolf and Clifford, perhaps their first two, and one daughter, born about 1925, who did not survive infancy.
- Bertina died of TB on August 16, 1931, at the age of 46, at Shingebee, Cass County, MN at the TB Sanitorium.
- Rev. Sandeno accepted a call to serve in Armstrong, Iowa in 1930, then to Geddes, SD in 1935, Floodwood, MN in 1945 and Webster, MN in 1949.
- Thomas married Anna Berg on August 2, 1934 at Goodhue, MN.
- Thomas served as a pastor in Iowa and Minnesota, the longest term at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, Olmsted Cty, MN, where his sons Harris and Harvey (teenagers) and Carl Sandeno are buried.
- Rev. Sandeno was widowed twice, and had six children. His 2nd wife, Anna Berg died in 1955.
- He continued providing pastoral services well into his 70's.
- His son, Carl, married my relative Edna Knutson Sandeno. Rev. Sandeno baptized my mother and her sister. He died at St. Mary's Hospital at age 78, having lived at the Red Wing Nursing home 3 years prior to his death.
