- Bio: Bonnie Bjornson, 80, of Humboldt passed away October 2, 2006 at her Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Richard Lauger officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.Mrs. Bjornson is survived by her children and their spouses, Diane and Terry Schafer of Humboldt, and Michael and Belle Bjornson of Mason City; grandchildren, Michael Bjornson, Jr. of Marshalltown, Dawn and Matt Zeman of Spirit Lake, Jennifer Bjornson of Minneapolis, MN, and Melissa and Tom Simpson of Humboldt; great grandchildren, Brennen, Parker, Danielle, Dustin, Carter, Miranda, and Emma; and siblings, Electa Roberts of Missouri, Dorothy Brownfield of Humboldt, Channing Greene of Dakota City, and Gary Greene of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, John Greene, Bill Greene, Helen Anderson, and Richard Greene.Bonnie Mae Greene, the daughter of William and Flossie Greene, was born May 14, 1926 at Algona and as a child she moved with her family to Humboldt. Following her education, Bonnie was employed by Sisson's Grocery Store in Humboldt. She was united in marriage to Donald Bjornson on August 18, 1946 at the Baptist Church and the couple made their home at Humboldt. For several years, Bonnie was employed by the Reminder Newspaper in Humboldt before going to work for Corn Belt Power Cooperative until her retirement after many years of service. Mr. Bjornson passed away in 1991 and Bonnie continued to maintain her home in Humboldt. She passed away there on the evening of October 2, 2006 at the age of 80. Mrs. Bjornson was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Humboldt. She enjoyed reading and having coffee with her friends.
