- Bio: Chris was born April 26, 1901, on Lindebrekke Farm in the town of Ulvik on the Hardanger Fjord in Norway, and passed away peacefully at home April 1, 2003. He was 101 years old. At the age of 23 he emigrated to the US via Canada and finally settled down in Minneapolis, Minn. In 1934, he met and married his wife Hazel and started a family. In 1940, they moved to Decatur Ill. and in 1952, settled in San Diego. He worked most of his life in the building industry as a carpenter, millwright, or contractor. Later he managed the credit union and after retirement worked preparing tax returns for H Block. Chris was an active member of the Lutheran Church, the Carpenter's Union, Masonic Lodge and the Sons of Norway. Chris was a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher, and friend. Services will be held Sunday, April 6, 12 noon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4011 Ohio St. Burial will be Monday, April 7, 11am at El Camino Cemetery.
