- Bio: Obituary:Minnie Tripp Drake, 91 died Monday, May 14, 1984, at the Minnesota Odd Fellows Home.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the United Methodist Church in Northfield with the Rev. Thomas Brennan officiating.Burial will be during a private family ceremony at 1 p.m. today at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dan and Don Freeman and John and Bruce Tripp, and sons, Eugene and Gerald Tripp. The Bierman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Drake, nee Minnie Frederickson, was born April 19, 1893, at Elko to Nels and Amilia (Elvestad) Frederickson. She attended Eidswold School.On Sept. 28, 1913, she married Robert Ancil Tripp at Christiania Church, Eidswold. He died in 1955. She later married Charles Miller who preceded her in death, and then Ralph Drake, who also preceded her in death.She lived in Northfield most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the White Rose Rebekah Lodge No. 100. She was also active in the Community Action Center. She enjoyed baseball, having come from a large family that fielded its own team in the early 1900s.Surviving are sons, Allen Tripp of Australia, Jack and Eugene Tripp of Northfield, Gerald Tripp of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Eleanor Engstrom of Lancaster, Pa., and Lois Freeman of Northfield; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Schonning of Northfield and Elizabeth Teachout of Washington state; brothers, Axel, Joseph, Edwin, Otto, Walter, Herman and Arthur Frederickson, all from the Northfield, Lakeville and Farmington areas.
