    • Bio: L. Beaubien Dies at 72

      Leo L. Beaubien, 72, 1127 S. Irene St., died early Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Mr. Beaubien was a former manager of the Valley Park Apartments, and previously had operated Beaubien’s Auto Repair for 25 years. In 1969 he was an unsuccessful candidate for the City Council. Mr. Beaubien was born Nov. 18, 1898, at Jefferson, S. D., and was a resident of Sioux City since 1924. He married Hanna Day July 6, 1962, in Omaha. He was a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, the Eagles Lodge and was a former president of the YMCA ‘39 Club. Survivors include the widow; a stepson, George Vilim of Sydney, Australia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joseph Pleiss of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Lorret Montagne of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Viola Montagne of Fullerton, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Larkin Funeral Home.

    • Funeral services for Leo L. Beaubien, 72, 1127 S. Irene St., will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church. The Rev. Simon Morkunas will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Larkin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Maurice Flanagan, Tom Flanagan, William Jepson, Norman Lynum, Henry Bowman and Joseph Pleiss Jr. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock this evening at the funeral home. Mr. Beaubien died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
