    • Bio: Mary Haaland, 91, of Rapid City died Friday, March 9, 2007 at a local nursing home.
    • Mary was born November 14, 1915 in Elk Ranch, Manitoba, Canada to Metro and Nellie (Martniuk) Adamyk. She grew up and attended school in Elk Ranch, Manitoba. Mary moved to Rapid City in 1946. She worked as a hostess at the Virginia Café at the Sheraton Johnson for about 10 years. She met and married Kenneth Haaland on December 22, 1956 in Rapid City.
    • Mary was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady Perpetual Help in Rapid City, faith was very important to her and Ken. She enjoyed in her younger days, gardening, house keeping, yard work, fishing and hunting with Ken.
    • She is survived by her husband, one brother,two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
    • She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George, John and Nick and one sister Ann Nickel.
    • Visitation at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.
    • Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, March 13, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City with Father Michel Mulloy and Monsignor William O'Connell as celebrants. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
