    • Bio: Albert Adam, 80 of Pierre, died Sunday, May 1 at Maryhouse Nursing Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 4 at the Maryhouse Chapel.Albert Fred Adam was born October 21, 1930 at the family home south of Naper, NE to Gustave & Mabel Adam. He shared his birth with his triplet brother and sister Almon & Alice. Early school years were spent at Naper and Jamison, NE and later at Ft. Randall. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1949. Albert spent two years in the service, 18 months of which were spent in Germany.He was united in marriage to Darlene Hanson on April 27, 1955. To this union six children were born: They lived, worked, and raised their family on the farm in Fort Randall Valley for about 47 years.He and Darlene were members of First Lutheran Church in Lake Andes, SD, and volunteered many, many hours at various organizations throughout their married life.In 2002 it became necessary for them to leave the farm because of Albert's Alzheimer's disease. Albert and Darlene then moved to MN to live next to Maylene and her family on their farm. In 2005 Albert moved to a nursing home in Belle Plaine, MN and lived there until March 2008 at which time Albert and Darlene moved to Pierre, SD to be near Alberta & Loretta. Albert then moved into Maryhouse nursing home and lived there until his death on May 1, 2011.He leaves behind a large family, which he was so very proud of: His six children: His twenty-one grandchildren: His fifteen great-grandchildren: Five Step great-grandchildren His triplet brother, Almon and younger sister Sharon (Ron) Globke.He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents, Gustave & Mabel Adam; and his triplet sister, Alice.A second Memorial Service will be held in Lake Andes in later May or June.
