- Bio: LeRoy Rensvold was born Nov. 21, 1931, near Wolf Point, to Arthur and Josie Rensvold. He was raised on the family farm along with siblings Avis, Earl, Stanley, Verna, Mary, Ruby and Irene.
After marrying Dorothy Nygaard of Crosby, N.D., in 1952, they purchased the farm from his parents. Together, they raised cattle and grew crops on the land he loved so well. They were soon joined by their children Bill, Jeanne, John and Josie.
LeRoy enjoyed music, reading, boating, waterskiing, travel, hunting and fishing, but his passion was being a rancher. He looked forward to the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede every year.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 60 years; son Bill and wife, Louise, of Wolf Point, their children Liz and Jarred; daughter Jeanne and husband, Don Dowling, of Spokane, Wash., their children, Brad and Katie; son John and wife, Ronda, their children Joey and Emma, all of Minot, N.D.; daughter Josie and husband, Mike Kiser, of Shalimar, Fla., their children Vicki and Nicole; sisters Irene Toavs and Mary Dodaro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
LeRoy passed away after a short hospital stay at Billings Clinic on Dec. 17, 2012.
- Memorial Service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point, Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m.
