    • Bio: MADISON-Harold W. Reierson, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Agrace Hospice. He was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of immigrants from Norway, Ole and Henrietta (Horup) Reierson. Harold was a veteran of the United States Navy joining in 1941 and serving on several battleships during WWII the longest being aboard the U.S.S. Idaho. He married Caroline M. Williams on Sept. 22, 1945, after returning from the war. The couple lived first in Minnesota and later moved to Madison. Harold joined Western Union as a messenger and later was an engineer with Oscar Mayer for 38 years. Harold was a competitive fisherman and proud of his three mounted muskies. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, traveling in his motor home, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Harold was an avid gardener who took special pride in his roses. He was also a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge of Madison for 62 years.Harold is survived by his wife, Caroline; daughter, Shirley (Robert) Gould; grandsons, Bradley (Vicki) Gould and Jonathan Gould (Taryn Fellows); great-grandchildren, Ashley and Collin; and brother, Robert (Delores) Reierson. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Reierson; brothers, Joyce and Henry; and sisters, Olive, Inga, and Nellie.Funeral services for Harold will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, with the Rev. Fran Deaner presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Agrace HospiceCare or the Second Harvest Food Bank.
