- Bio: George Charles Anstett, 83, of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016.He was born July 22, 1932, son of George Gerhardt and Blanche (Bonneau) Anstett in Midlothian, IL. He married Donna Mae Kellogg in Hampshire, IL in 1961. George served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, The Catholic Foresters, and The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. George loved fishing, camping, and reading. He was a whiz with trivia and Jeopardy.He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Susan (Kevin) Sensor of Elgin, Charles (Jean) Anstett and Joseph (Kim) Anstett, both of Washington; grandchildren, Lanna Lee, Spencer and Megan Anstett; brothers, Frank (Betty) Anstett of Washington and John Anstett of New Mexico; sisters, Shirley (Homer) Clark of Fairfield, IL and Ruth (Ron) Lamie of Indiana; brother-in-law, Joe Hall of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; infant granddaughter, Sophia Sensor; brother, Robert Anstett; and sister, Margaret Hall.George's family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to Heritage Health in Elgin, for the loving care of both of their parents and Vitas Hospice for their care of George during his final days.The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL with The Very Reverend Donald M. Ahles officiating.A visitation will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the funeral home.
